While I don’t mind people asking me questions like this as I typically am very open with sharing my drafts and or writing. Please be aware this is a one man job, I am the sole artist behind this project and it takes time. It’s overwhelming having people beg for the same character nonstop. I do take into account frequently asked characters and place them higher on my to do list but please be aware this takes time.

With the release of newer games I’ve been asked this a lot more. Only CROB and CRK’s lore is going to be taken into account when writing this AU. Witches’ Castle and Tower of Adventures will not be taken into account. THOUGH I will occasionally take characters from these games and rewrite them to fit the lore accordingly. This won’t be done often but keep this in mind.

The Witches and Wizards still play a major role here! It’s just that in this AU some Cookies species were created by other external entities and some have no knowledge of where they came from. Think Sugar Swan creating most animal cookies who later diversified and Sea Fairy creating the Sea Cookies.

PastryDash (or Vera’s Cookie Run rewrite) is a rewrite project started in 2020 as a passion project. It began as a way to explore headcanons, worldbuilding, and design and eventually morphed into its own thing, and also a general dislike to how the current CR events feel like insane mishmashes of content that never really go anywhere.

Earthbread’s History
Cookies have existed and inhabited Earthbread for thousands of years, and thus have elaborate histories, artifacts and belief systems.
The Soul Jams
Created by Millennial Tree and Sugar Swan, the Soul Jams are a mythical artifact and tool meant to bring balance to Cookiekind in times of great need. They are an item of great power and could only be wielded by specific Cookies.

The Souljams each represent a Virtue. A special trait that only certain Cookies fully embody and represent. These virtuous Cookies are able to wield and use the Souljams to their full potential to bring peace and prosperity to Cookiekind.

The original holders of the Soul Jams were named the Virtues and were specifically chosen by Millennial Tree and Sugarswan for their ability to embody the values of their representative Souljam. For a millennia they fought to keep peace and protect Cookiekind from danger and steer them to a future lined with prosperity and stability.

The Virtues were represented by five Cookies who ruled with grace and mercy. The Virtues of Knowledge, Volition, Happiness, Change and Solidarity were imbued with the power to create peace. Their reign started a perfect age of progress for Cookiekind, establishing themselves and their legacy for generations.

Alas, unchecked power has the abillity to poison and inevitably corrupt the wielder. Something once thought as impossible by their creators, slowly each virtue was poisoned and gave into the temptations of darkness. The Virtues, once worshipped and revered became distorted and twisted versions of themselves. Now known as Deceit, Apathy, Sloth, Destruction, and Silence.

The newly created Five Beasts brought an era of destruction and suffering. As a punishment for their crimes, Millennial Tree and Sugar Swan cursed the Beasts by further twisting their forms into vile monsters. These new painful forms represented their Vices and corrupted their Soulstones to ensure maximum suffering. When this merely slowed down their evil Crusade, Their evil reign was ended once and for all when both Millennial Tree and Sugar Swan sealed them in the Great Silver Tree to ensure they’d never see the light again.

For their negligence, the Fae native to the Beast Yeast region were also cursed with twisted forms and were forced to protect the Great Silver Tree to ensure the Beasts evil reign was never repeated.

The Soul Jams were then scattered throughout Earthbread, quietly waiting for their new owners to pick up from where the Virtues left off and bring a new age to Cookiekind.
The Ancients
The Five Ancients are the current holders of the Soul Jams. As the current Guardians of Peace, their reign has ushered a golden age of peace and prosperity.

The owner of a Souljam is granted both immortality and immense power. The type of power ranges depending on the background and experience of the beholder. The Ancient Heroes all underwent slight physical changes after obtaining and using their Souljams for the first time, as each Souljam contains a Voice that is based off a specific animal. Even Cookies who take on a more “Human” appearance can be changed by the power of a Souljam. These changes go with their specific special power that they are free to use at any time.

When using their special power the user’s Souljam glows and changes the user for the duration they are using said ability. As an example, Hollyberry’s specific power is super strength, when she taps into this power she gains a cat-like appearance and heightened senses. The Ancients are also able to tap into each other’s powers for specific circumstances, If necessary Dark Cacao can call on his Souljam to give him Holly’s Strength for a mission.

If a user’s Souljam were to be forcibly removed, they’d slowly revert back to their original appearance and lose their powers and eventually, their special skill. While not fatal, going for prolonged periods without their Souljam presents more challenges, especially if the user has lived with it for multiple years.

Liquids
Drinks
Drinks (that are not dairy or coffee based) are Cookies with distant nymph ancestry. This is characterized by their jelly-liquid textured hair, long tails, brightly colored eyes, and skin that mimics the hair. They are born naturally with a waterproof coating to prevent sogginess. Hydrokinesis is a specialized skill they have from birth; this ranges from simple party tricks to actual combat prowess, but this depends on the level of training received.

Cookies baked with Carbonated drinks (sodas, some alcohol, etc) have visible carbonation in their hair and bubbles they also fizz a lot quicker. The presence of glitter and carbonation also adds a glowing effect to the skin. Hair is cool to the touch and very soft and bouncy, and the state of the hair can also be altered (solid ↔ liquid) Potions take effect faster and have a stronger effect because the body is made mostly out of water. The ombre effect and birthmark develops throughout puberty and is linked to the individual's soulstone.
Liquid Hybridization
Drink Mixes take on both parent’s flavor attributes. Their eyes have both colored scleras and pupils, though in rarer cases they can have the fully colored eyes as it is a recessive trait. Their hair is only partially liquid and retains form much easier. Generally have smaller ears and the colored gradient present on the extremities doesn’t pass the fingertips or knees. They also lack the Soulstone chest marking but have a less intricate version of the leg markings.

Powers depend on both parents' flavor attributes, though these abilities can be harnessed through proper training if they wish to go through it. In some cases they are able to inherit the appearance but little to no magical abilities.

it’s important to note a large quantity of Fruit Cookies are Fruit + Drink hybrids called Fruit Juices. Juices share the typical characteristics of a Fruit and Drink Cookie and they are most native to tropical regions.
Coffees
Native to the outskirts of the Cacaoan Tundras, Coffee Cookies are built for the harsh cold and are covered in a thick layer of fur resembling anything from a domesticated cat to large snow leopards. Long, cat-like ears provide increased hearing, and the hair (or lynx tipping) that grows in their ears is meant to keep them warm and prevent debris from flying in. Their long tails are for regulating body temperature and maintaining balance and stealth.
They are baked with so much caffeine that their pupils are constrained into a cat-eyed slit that dilates depending on lighting and emotions.

The invention of Coffee Magic goes back to Espresso and Latte Cookie and is based off the Dark Magic System, but Latte Magic in particular is based off the Light Magic system. Both require incredible amounts of training to properly master.
Reptiles
Snake Cookies are limbless half-cookie half-snake beings that typically live in tropical and desert climates. Because they don't have arms they rely on stalking and catching their prey by surprise. Snake Cookies completely lack arms but can hold and even use weapons with their tails which are prehensile and help with daily tasks. Their ability to slither allows for easy burrowing and being able to quickly move from place to place to stealthily hunt.

Can learn many types of magic as they are often in positions of power or tasked to protect artifacts. They can also speak to other snakes/reptiles to form small packs for easier hunting and protection, They also can produce venom that can paralyze or kill the victim.
“Modern” Dinosaurs
Descendants of non-avian dinosaurs who survived extinction in the Dragons Valley. Because of their dinosaur heritage, they're much larger than the typical Cookie and are covered in full body scales like modern lizards. These scales protect them from larger predators and allow them to live in the Dragons Valley's hot and harsh climate by reducing water loss and regulating body temperature. Their large tails act as a weapon for both self defense and hunting. These cookies are carnivorous and hunt in packs for other, smaller dinosaurs and have large fanged teeth meant for tearing and eating meat.

Little magic abilities outside of communication with other reptiles and dinosaurs. This allows them to quickly bond and tame other reptiles for use as companions in both riding and hunting.
Insects
(Vary based on species of Insect)
Cookies that resemble and share traits from class insecta. (Butterflies, Wasps/Bees, Beetles, true bugs essentially)

Commonly have exoskeletons composed of chitin, they all have six appendages, a set of Antenne and zero or two pairs of wings.
Their individual life cycles depend on the specific species of bug the cookie is based on but more often than not they go through drastic changes as they age. Either going through the process of metamorphosis or through the nymphal stages. They all share the ability to speak to bugs and depending on the species may possess mimicry, pollination abilities with plants, poison production or flight.
Arachnids
(Vary based on species of arachnid)
Cookies that resemble and share traits with class arachnid. (Mites, Spiders, scorpions)
All have eight legs, Lack Antenne, claws, and wings they also commonly have two mouth pieces called chelicerae.

Life cycles once again depend on species, but like insects, arachnids grow most commonly by molting and shedding their skin once they are too large.
Share common abilities with insects like talking to other bugs, poisonous bites (depends on species), mimicry but some specific abilities include webbing which works differently for each species of spider, but range to light or heavy webbing.
Scorpion pedipalps are their pinchers, also they have venom bulbs attached to their tails.
Birds
One of the first Cookie species created by Sugarswan, Bird Cookies are native to the Dessert Paradise. They are characterized by their bird-like anatomy and feather growth in place of hair. As natural born shapeshifters, Birdcookies are able to switch between having arms that are attached to their wings or a complete set of wings at will, this is typically done to prioritize convenience or flight. Something completely unique to Birdcookies however, is their specialized language which only other birds can understand. Dialects vary between species but typically resembles common bird calls and songs.

Birdcookies native to Dessert Paradise are born with a gem corresponding to their place in the Seasonal Court. Each season has their own school of magic that the Cookie specializes in since birth. Other Cookies not from the Dessert Paradise are able to learn magic at their own discretion.
Plants
Plant Cookies are a large category of Cookies that descend from Wood Fae and Dryads eventually becoming Leafy Greens, Flowers, Fruit and Root Vegetables.
Leafy Greens
Leafy Greens are generally a large spectrum of Cookies with wood fae ancestry. Characterized by growing leaves instead of hair and long “stem” like tails, they produce chlorophyll and can photosynthesize. Some Cookies are more effective at photosynthesis than others and is seen by a larger Chlorophyll buildup in the extremities. Leafy Cookies are hardier than the typical Cookie and have super strength, can communicate with plants and in some cases have some plant manipulation abilities.

The Soulstone is where their body markings come from, and how they can become sun charged, an ability that is typically a result of prolonged sun exposure. Being Sun Charged means they’re at their most powerful, and their powers are heightened but unpredictable in this state. They don’t need to eat regular foods as their bodies produce all the needed nutrients, but they can eat if they wish. They also have the capability to wilt when severely stressed, sick, or injured, resulting in a gaunt, ghostly appearance.
Flowers
Floral cookies are a subcategory of plant cookies, originating from crossbreeding between fairies and dryads. Characterized by having petal growth in place of leaf growth, Flower cookies can still photosynthesize like other plant cookies but are less efficient and effective. They also grow two "tails" from their head instead of the typical stem-like tails of their leafy cousins.

They smell like the flowers they were baked with, and their extremities (tips of fingers, toes, nose, ears, etc) have a build-up of pigments found in their petals instead of chlorophyll. Many floral cookies have external plant growth rooting from the soul stone, with root-like scars on their skin forming due to this. They cannot become Sun charged, but they are typically lighter than most cookies and have a higher buoyancy allowing them to float. Flower Cookies are naturally inclined to learn plant manipulation magic like their leafy cousins.
Fruit
Fruit Cookies are the youngest and most human-like subspecies of Plant Cookie. Unlike Leafy and Flowering Cookies they have little to no plant growth and lack any ability to photosynthesize. However, in some cases, a they can grow fruit on their head. Despite this, Fruit Cookies are characterized for having unnaturally bright colored hair and eyes based on the Fruit they are baked with. Their Soulstone markings are small and range depending on how much magic they know, separating them from their leafy and flowering cousins who are born with and have their markings develop with age.

Fruit Cookies have the unique ability to thrive especially well in tropical climates. As Fruit Cookies baked with tropical fruits are born with the waterproof coating allowing them to swim freely. Their naturally high sugar content also gives them higher stamina and energy, letting them excel at sports and normally taxing activities. Despite being born with little magic abilities they are fully capable of learning and possessing strong magic prowess with proper coaching.
Supernatural Creatures
While all Cookies are supernatural creatures of some sort, these cookies specifically are out of the norm and often the results of dark magic and or curses.
Flesh Puppets
Flesh Puppets are a product of high level necromancy. Unlike the typical undead thrall, Flesh Puppets are capable of higher thinking and in some situations form their own personalities and identities. They’re valuable assets and important tools as they are specialized for specific projects and jobs. Like most forms of necromancy, creating Flesh Puppets is very illegal in most Cookie cities.

Flesh Puppets are peculiar as they do not feel pain like regular Cookies. They do not need to eat or drink but are able to eat for fun, typically hunting down and eating Cookie flesh. They possess uncanny looks ranging from multiple rows of teeth or sewn on body parts. They can also move unlike regular cookies, by easily running on all fours or contorting into normally uncomfortable positions for comfort and fun. They are very moldable when created and are shaped by the environment they were created to serve.

It’s important that unless made to do so, they do NOT share an identity with the corpse they were made from. They feel no connection with the original identity of their body. This means that typically they are completely different from the corpse they were resurrected from.

The Fae
The Fae are a species of Cookie created by Millennial Tree to guard and preserve his Forests. Though, with the creation of the Beasts they were separated and became two distinct species.

Beast Yeast Faeries
The Fae native to the Beast Yeast region are the product of divergent evolution. As punishment for not properly preventing the creation of the Beast Cookies, a curse was created by both Millennial Tree and Sugarswan to punish the Fae for letting this happen and were also promptly banished. Now lead by Elder Faerie Cookie, the new bug-like Fae protect the Silver Tree to ensure their mistakes aren’t repeated.

There are two distinct types of Fae native to Beast Yeast, the most common type is the Firefae and the Knight species. Firefae typically resemble both moth and fireflies and manage typical tasks such as inventory management and record keeping. The Knights however are specifically designed and hatched to protect the area surrounding the Great Tree. From birth they are covered in a thick protective coating that allows them to withstand heavy attack. They are also equipped with a large crest that is both decorative and used to fight any invaders.
